I find horses generally love head and facial work. They hold up a very heavy head! We often don't think about the top of their head or jaw muscles. I like to check tension and movement at the poll. There is a common phrase used in this field, "supple at the poll, supple at the loin." It is important to remember working even an area at the head can affect the rest of the horse still. The more release we can achieve here, the better the horse will feel and move, ideally.
